Mobile Web - Tourism & Heritage

Screen shot of Drogheda Viaduct mobile tourism application

In areas of cultural importance and interest it is vital to minimise the disruptive impact we have on the area. Constructing buildings and signs can be costly and may detract from visitor's experience.

We offer solutions that allow visitors a rich and compelling visit to tourist and heritage sites. Visitors can read, view images and video and listen to audio about points of interest, gain multiple perspectives of events, view trails and maps or follow a self-guided, self-paced tour. Examples include mobile versions of existing tourism websites, self-guided tours and supporting content for areas of interest.

Example Case Study

There is an historical viaduct near Drogheda that you wish to promote as a tourist attraction. You wish to provide a rich and interactive experience to visitors. You would prefer not to have to build a specific tourist office or employ a full time tour guide when attendance is likely to be sporadic.

You decide to offer a self-guided tour application available for use on visitors' mobile phones. The solution allows visitors to explore a library of information on the viaduct, including construction processes, dates of interest and commentaries from different people involved in the project. Content includes text, video, images and audio. The solution is interactive, so visitors can follow their own path of interest and at their own pace. There is no additional infrastructure required other than existing mobile phone services.
