Whatcar.ie – New and Used Car Website
Client: WhatCar.ie, Rathmines, Dublin 6
Whatcar.ie approached MOR Solutions to develop their used car website into a scalable portal that would allow for future growth for other vehicles (Vans, Bikes, etc.). The objective was to design and develop an easy to use comprehensive portal for new and used vehicles.
We created a scalable design concept and built the initial website to cater for Cars, Bikes and Vans. The new portal was launched in Spring 2007 with Whatcar.ie, Whatvan.ie and Whatbike.ie. For the car buyer, the information on each car is comprehensive and access to dealers and private sellers is easy. For the private car seller, the website offers inexpensive advertising with multiple photos and enquiry management. For new and used car dealers, the website allows them to easily upload their used cars, manage their enquiries and view reports.
There are nifty tools for visitors including calculators and wishlists and the search facility is comprehensive offering both simple and advanced search options. The website makes use of Ajax for fast display of vehicle images thus improving the user's experience. The content management system is custom built and comprehensive.
Since Summer 2007, the portal now has 2 additional sections to it for new and used 4x4s (What4x4) and car hire (Whatcarhire.ie).
